South School

Welcome to South Elementary School.  Built in 1992, we are a PK-5 grade school with approximately 320 students.  We are located about 10 miles south of Yanceyville, North Carolina.  Our student population is rural  and our attendance zone stretches from north of Semora in the North to the Alamance County line in the South.  We have 18 classroom teachers, plus PE, Media and Art/Music.  Our students participate in Art for 1/2 of the year and Music 1/2.

Our curriculum is standards based using the updated NC Standards for English-Language Arts (ELA) and Eureka Math (Math).  We provide student support through our Multi-Tiered Supports and Services (MTSS) and our school follows the PBIS model for behavior management.
